The story was first published in Swedish in 2019 as the novel Konsten att lämna en psykopat, interwoven with factual sections about domestic violence. In 2020 it became the audiobook När ingen hör, när ingen ser from Lind & Co, which was nominated for the Storytel Awards. It has been translated into Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Icelandic and English.
